An award winning* community leader, Scott has proven himself to be a very positive voice in local government. He has worked to bring residents and politicians together in a series of successful projects for the betterment of his community for over 18 years.
A 2011 graduate from the Sedona Citizens Academy, Scott currently serves as a Commissioner on the City of Sedona Planning and Zoning Commission as well as on the City of Sedona Personnel Board, helping to make this the best City in the World! He also serves on the current Sedona Fire District Governing Board, and worked tirelessly with the other Board members to finally bring us our much needed Fire Station #6.
Scott holds a degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Farmingdale. For over 30 years he worked as a police officer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey before retiring as a Senior Police Accident Investigator. During his public safety career, he also worked in the Police Emergency Service Unit and was responsible for a squad of firefighters in the elite “Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Unit.”
A Sedona homeowner since 2007, Scott resides in the Chapel Area with his wife, Janet, two adult sons, and three much-beloved rescue dogs. He understands the importance of a strong community and strong leadership as well as how public involvement is crucial in a democracy. His long-standing history of public service is evidence of his unwavering commitment to fellow citizens.
